U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Caleb Earwood and his bride Maggie became famous overnight for their wedding photo that Dwayne Schmidt, their photographer, was lucky enough to catch. The couple who started out as high school friends began dating two years ago, and they have been inseparable ever since.
The photo that has captivated the hearts of so many captured Caleb holding Maggie’s hand while saying a prayer just a few minutes before walking down the aisle.
To keep with wedding tradition, they didn’t want to see each other before the wedding, so friends and family positioned them just right against the corner of a building so that they could clutch each other’s hands in prayer.
It was truly a one-in-a-million moment.
“We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will,” Caleb said. “I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into.”
The photographer, Dwayne Schmidt, said, “I have been fortunate enough to photograph several weddings, but this is a moment I will remember forever.” He posted the picture on his business Facebook page and it has been liked and shared thousands of times since.
“We’re thankful that our picture is able to bless so many people and touch that many hearts,” Caleb added.
How enchanting it is to see a couple walking in God’s guidance through their marriage by committing to seek Him first and love one another as Christ loves the church.
