While we’re all desperately trying to dodge spoilers from tonight’s Game of Thrones finale (already broadcast in the USA), it has transpired that last week’s episode – The Battle of the Bastards – hasofficiallymade it as IMDB’s top rated TV episode of all time.
To be honest, we’re not surprised. Seeing Jon Snow beat Ramsay Bolton to a bloody pulp was satisfying (to say the least), and even before that, the acting, the special effects and the unyielding tension (when Rickon was running away from Ramsay’s arrows!) were all incredible.
92,000 people have voted on it, and it has a 10/10 rating. It’s stolen the top spot from Breaking Bad’sOzymandias (quick spoiler alert in case any of you are currently watching – or have plans to watch it) – the episode in which Hank is killed.
That has a rating of 9.7.
As far as top TV series go, Game of Thrones as a whole is only in fourth place. Band of Brothers holds the top spot, Planet Earth is second, and Breaking Bad is third.
We wouldn’t be surprised if, by the time Game of Thrones wraps up, it’s moved up a couple of places…
