San Franciscan urban planner Sarah Levine loves to make maps. She is also a woman — which makes her vulnerable to street harassment, something that all women go through. As a man, it never hit me how frequent this phenomenon happens to the women I know. That is, until Sarah mapped out four days of it.
Here’s some context from Sarah Levine:
After hurting my foot and winding up on crutches, I noticed an increase in comments I was getting on the street. I decided to record and map all the comments I received on my way home from work for the rest of the week.
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
The whole week
If you notice, her walk is less than three blocks. Men: Get it together. She’s just trying to get to work.
