For nearly half an hour, visitors to Kenya’s Olare Motorogi Conservancy Kicheche Bush Camp witnessed an incredible face-off between a pride of young lions and a mother giraffe protecting her newborn calf. The lions saw dinner in the weak calf, who was just days old, but were eventually forced to look elsewhere for a meal as the mother held her ground.
