We only get a few opportunities to shine in life.

As Eminem once said, “Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted. One moment. Would you capture it, or just let it slip?”

This video won the Internet this week because this audacious young man knew that he had to seize the day. Carpe diem, my friends, go full diva:

The young man in this video is Brendan Jordan. Mr. Jordan, I commend you for your stupendous dance moves and I thank you for making my week just a little bit better. I think it’s safe to say that everyone who’s seen this video feels the same way.

Just in case you were too distracted by Brendan’s incredible full diva display, these are five major things that also went down this week:

1. The US found chemical weapons in Iraq, and kept it a secret. Now ISIS might have them.

A New York Times report revealed that American soldiers found thousands of chemical weapons in Iraq, and were often wounded in the process. The US government kept this a secret because these discoveries did not support the justification for the war.

America invaded Iraq to destroy an active weapon’s of mass destruction program, but the munitions found were developed before 1991. What’s more, American companies helped Iraq build these weapons.

Some also speculate that ISIS might now be in possession of weapons that were never fully destroyed. The terrorist organization currently controls a factory in Iraq where chemical weapons were developed and stored.

2. Two nurses in the US were diagnosed with Ebola.

Two nurses that treated Thomas Eric Duncan, the first individual diagnosed with Ebola, have also contracted the disease.

Both are in stable condition. The situation in West Africa is much worse. This heartbreaking video from the front lines of Liberia’s Ebola fight reveals how intense things have gotten:

3. The Pentagon declared war on climate change.

The Pentagon released a report that characterized climate change as an imminent threat to national security.

Accordingly, the US military will now adjust for the impact of climate change in its plans, operations and training.

4. The protests in Hong Kong escalated.

Chinese police have escalated their efforts to disperse pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong.

They’ve cleared barricades, tents and canopies that have blocked important streets and areas for weeks. Some of the tactics used have been quite extreme.

5. Months after Michael Brown was shot and killed, Ferguson October continues the movement against racism and police brutality.

In August, an unarmed African-American teen was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson Missouri. This sparked protests that captured the attention of the nation and reignited discussions surrounding racism and police brutality.

This week, hundreds of people from different parts of the country gathered in St. Louis to continue these protests, which have been named “Ferguson October.”

Despite the fact that the protests appeared to be peaceful, the police still arrested people, including some well known figures.
