I found a knife by the side of a lake Memorial Day weekend. My guess is it was left there by ice fishermen last winter. Unfortunately, it's rusty and dull with a cheap plastic handle.

Said chunk of wood is now in a different shape.
And now it's two smaller chunks of wood.
God I love sandpaper.
The metal parts have been de-rustified and polished.
New handle is coming along nicely.
This is the brush I used to put polyurethane on the handle. Partly because I'm a rebel, but mostly because I don't read things before I use them.
Finished product! The whole hinge assembly is made from new pieces.
Oh, also it's sharp now.
