If you’re anything like me, it probably took you a while to use Snapchat’s new Tint Brush feature after the app’s update on Wednesday, July 19.
I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but I love Snapchat and wanted to try the new tool out sooner or later. So today, I finally did and I’m obsessed.
Of course, there are a few steps you need to take in order to get the colors flowin’ and I’ll show you those steps in just a few moments. But first, let’s talk about what the Tint Brush on Snapchat does, because you’re probably going to use it regularly.

As the video above shows, Snapchat’s Tint Brush will literally change anything object, human, sky, planet, you name it to any color you desire.
So, yes, this mean you can change your hair color pink (I’ve already done it), and it mean you can turn the sky purple (I’ve already done that, too).
In order to use it, you need to follow a few simple steps on the app that’ll let you turn your reality into a dreamy worldfit for Rainbow Brite.
How To Use Snapchat’s Tint Brush
OK, let’s get down to Snapchat business so you can spew colors all over your world.
In order to use Tint Brush, you have to first update your Snapchat application so it’s up to date as of Wednesday, July 19 (that’s the easiest step). Then, of course, open Snapchat!
Once you have Snapchat open, take a picture of anything you want. Do it with me, ya’ll, it’ll make the learning process easier.
Did you take a snap? You better have. Now, go to the scissors icon inthe right of your screen andtap on it. You should then see a vertical list of tool icons including the Stickers, Magic Eraser, and Backdrops. The bottom icon should be a tiny brush, which is, in fact, your new Tint Brush.
Once you hit your Tint Brush, select a color from the vertical rainbow. Then, trace the object or area that you wish to tint to that color, and voila! You’ve successfully used the Tint Brush.
Congratulations, you are now ready to turn your entire world into a psychedelic rainbow.
