Five People Shot At BLM Protest By Alleged ‘White Supremacists’

Update: 2:21 pm EST Tuesday

Police reportedly arrested two of the three white suspects who allegedly opened fire on protestors in Minneapolis on Monday night, The Star Tribune reports. The third suspect is still at large.

On Monday night, at least fivepeople were shot in Minneapolis, Minnesota at an ongoing Black Lives Matter protest over the controversial police killing of 24-year-old Jamar Clark.

Fortunately, it seems all of those who were shot sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred close to the 4th Precinct police station, The Star Tribune reports. It happened at approximately 10:45 pm.

The suspects are believed to be white males wearing bulletproof vests. As of around 2:30 am on Tuesday, the suspects were still at large.

Some are alleging the shooters were white supremacists.

Miski Noor, a Black Lives Matter media contact, told The Star Tribune,

A group of white supremacists showed up at the protest, as they have done most nights.

[They] opened fire on about 6 protesters.

Many immediately took to Twitter to respond to these troubling developments.

This occurred at a time when America is deeply divided over Syrian refugees and racial tensions are very high. Violence like this helps nothing.

We will continue to provide updates as they come in.
