Marriage is not only about having the option to get married. It’s about how the state you live in values the rights you and your partner have together. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer here, but if you’re gay and for some reason go into the hospital, you’d want your partner there with you, right? Well, that’s not the case in over half our states. But one by one, that’s changing.
