Even if it sounds like a good idea at the time, let this story serve as a reminder that it’s never a great idea to leap across tall buildings like Wile E. Coyote or some kind of action hero unless you are actually Wile E. Coyote or some kind of action hero.
Learn from the mistake of an unidentified man in Pittsburgh who tried to do just that in anattempt to impress his date. He couldn’t quite make it to the second roof and ended up falling down between the two buildings, wedging himself between them in the narrow gap in the middleof the night.
1
In other words, he missed.
2
“He’s not quite on the ground, but he is wedged between the two buildings pretty well,” said Public Safety Officer Sonya Toler.
3
The rescue took more than three hours, in part because initial attempts to break down the wall of a nearby Qdoba restaurant to reach him were unsuccessful, sothey had to break out the heavy equipment.
4
Bruegger’s Bagels, the other neighboring restaurant, issued an apology and vouchers to their customers for opening late due to the rescue.
5
The man was fine save for a bruised ego and a sprained ankle, but no word on if the girl was more impressed with his antics than the paramedics or those poor souls that got their bagel an hour later than normal.
Oh, the things we do for love…
