Facebook Reveals Their Most Challenging Interview Question

As I scroll through Facebook for basically every waking moment of my life (it’s not an addiction if you admit it, right?) I often feel like I basically work there.

But sadly I don’t, and I’m sure the people who do work at Facebook probably achieve a lot more than sneakily trying to watch videos with the sound off and creeping on theirneighbours ex ex boyfriend.

It turns out that to work at Facebook you have to have not only a very impressive CV but also some seriously savvy interview skills. Because, as Facebook’s global head of recruitment, Miranda Kalinowski, recently let slip to the Business Insider, they are prone to asking some pretty savage questions.

In particular, she finds that the answer to the following question:

“On your very best day at work the day you come home and think you have the best job in the world what did you do that day?”

Is a clear indicator of whether the candidate is fit for the job. So what are they looking for in the answer to that pretty convoluted question? Apparently they’re looking for a “genuine expression of pride and purpose… to see whether that candidate’s drive and values align with Facebook’s mission.”

So, I’m guessing answering with “my dream day at work would be lying in a tub of ice cream with an edible spoon watching Netflix and playing with a pug”, probably wouldn’t land me the job then?

Better get back to the drawing board…
