It’s summer, andsummer often means kids swimming in public pools. That’s why the American Red Cross put up this sign at two pools in Colorado to remind people about pool etiquette.
Do you notice anything a bit “off” about it at all? Maybe the groups of “cool” and “not cool” children, perhaps?

Twitter user JSawyer330 did, pointing out the “super racist” nature of the safety notice in that all the people engaging in “cool” behavior are white, and everyone doing “not cool” stuff are also not white.
It looks like theyre trying to do something here that shows all kids together of all different backgrounds, but theyre clearly not hitting the mark, Sawyer said.

Some people didn’t see her point.

And others were quick to point it out to them.

As forthe Red Cross, they pretty much owned it, immediately acknowledging that thesign is pretty racist and that they’d take it down.
The American Red Cross appreciates and is sensitive to the concerns raised regarding one of the water safety posters we produced, the organization said in an apology published Monday. We deeply apologize for any misunderstanding, as it was absolutely not our intent to offend anyone.
So what do you think? Areyou offended?
