Photos: Massive Cape Town Fire Forces Residents To Evacuate Homes

  • A fire that began Sunday on the eastern side of Cape Town, South Africa, spread over to the west side on Monday.
  • A Cape Town Disaster Risk Management spokesperson said that more than 100 people have evacuated their homes, including those who belong to senior citizen residences.
  • At least 52 people were affected by smoke inhalation.
  • A fire manager for the Table Mountain National National Park in Cape Town estimates the fire will continue to spread for a week.
