2. Well, it’s been 20 years since the movie and we still don’t know what happened. Hollywood dropped the ball…but somebody just picked it up. A sequel is being made, albeit in comic form.
It’s titled Super Mario Bros. 2: The Comic and it’s currently in progress.
Do you know what’s even better? It’s canon.
That’s right, the comic’s creators—Steven Applebaum and Ryan Hoss—met with the original writer of the Super Mario Bros. script to flesh out details.
Check out the comic’s website here. There’s some more information and pictures. This project looks like it’s going to be awesome and fulfill the Italian plumber sized hole left in our hearts 20 years ago.
