12 Good Luck Charms You Might Already Have In Your House

1. Cinnamon Sticks

According to some, keeping a stick of cinnamon in your purse or wallet will bring you a steady income, or at least make your credit cards smell nice.

2. Lentils

Lentils are also said to be a financial good luck charm, and are often eaten as the first meal of the New Year in Brazil for that purpose.

3. A Goldfish

A goldfish kept in an aquarium in your house brings “positivity” and good luck. If you want to get really crazy, you can follow this suggestion: “Normally 8 gold fishes are kept with one black fish to remove bad luck.”

4. Three Keys

Wearing three keys together is said to be good luck as one unlocks the door to health, wealth, and love, respectively, but also hopefully your building door, your apartment door, and your car.

5. Acorns

The acorn is supposed to be lucky in the following departments: preserved youth, attraction of the opposite sex (so, limited audience), and general prosperity.

6. Spiders

Spiders are supposed to be good luck in “matters of trade” (and also for weavers), but on the other hand, *screaming.*

7. Alfalfa Spice

The alfalfa spice (not to be confused with alfalfa sprouts, though I can’t see how trying those would hurt) is said to be good luck in “business, gambling and personal finances.”

8. A Redhead

Rubbing the head of a person with red hair is said to be good luck, but redheads themselves are also said to be terrible luck on certain specific occasions, like “meet[ing] a redhead on the first morning in May.”

9. White Socks

White socks might not seem especially meaningful, but they’re One Direction member Niall Horan’s good luck charm, and he seems to be doing okay. (A note: this site also claims to know Mr. Horan’s penis length down to the hundredth decimal place, so, it might not be trustworthy. Or it’s ESPECIALLY trustworthy??)

10. A Money Plant

A money plant (note: not this kind) is supposed to bring wealth to the house, just not as directly as you’d imagine/hope.

11. Bezoar

OK so you might not already have this item (which is a ball of undigested hair and food fiber from “the gut of an animal”) in your house already, and if so, ew? But if you can get one, it’s lucky, and if you’re Ron Weasley, it might save you someday.

12. A Raccoon Penis Bone

Again, you might not have this on hand. I don’t know what your house is like. The animal penis bone in general is called a baculum, but you’ll need the baculum of a raccoon if you want your penis bone to count for anything. It’ll bring you good luck and fertility.
