Alexa Meade is an American artist whose work lies at the intersection of painting, photography, performance, and installation.
The 24-year-old paints over people so that they look like paintings, then photographs them either in a natural setting or with a painted background.
When photographed, the painting and the subject appear to be one and the same as the 3D space of her painted scenes becomes optically compressed into a 2D plane.
