Kheris Rogers is one strong, brave ten-year-old.
As a response to racismshe faced, Rogers who is, I repeat, ten years old started Flexin’ In My Complexion, a t-shirt company that encourages and empowers black women to love the skin they’re in.
It doesn’t get much more amazing than that.

In March 2017, Rogers’ sister, Taylor Pollard, posted pictures of Rogers on Twitter with the caption, “My sister is only 10, but already royalty #FlexinInHerComplexion.”
It quickly went viral. The post, which was a celebration of this awesome young girl, was hiding a sinister truth. Rogers had been bullied for her skin tone all through elementaryschool. Even when her mom decided to have her transfer to another school, theracist comments didn’t stop.

But Rogers wasn’t going to give in to racist bullies.
She created her t-shirt line in late April to encourage people of all skin colors to feel good in their own skin. She and her sister run the company together.
“I wanted to create this clothing line to inspire other people to be confident and comfortable in their skin,” Rogers told Mashable. “The reason why the font on our Classic shirts is so bold is because we wanted the shirts to be just as bold as the message.”

Some of the bullying Rogers faced was from light-skinned black students who teased her for her darker skin tone.
With this t-shirt line, Rogers and her sister want to shed a light on colorism, which is “biased based on skin shade that occurs within communities of color,” according to Mashable.

Look at how fierce and strong this young woman is.
“I just hope to inspire others to flex in their complexion, and know that their skin is perfect,” Rogers told Mashable. “In my line, I want to bring awareness to the reasons why some people with dark complexion are not always confident in their skin.”

The support and success Rogers has gotten since she started the t-shirt line has been insane. Even Snoop Dogg mentioned her on Instagram.
Rogers told Mashable that not only is all of this success very exciting but it’s also reassuring.
