Mom Receives Touching Note From Stranger Complimenting Her Parenting (Photos)

letterletter

A simple act of kindness was all it took to make a young mother’s day.

On a train from Birmingham, England, to Plymouth, a stranger told 23-year-old Sammie Welch that something had fallen out of her bag before handing her a scrap of paper.

Welch, traveling with 3-year-old son Rylan, took the note without thinking.

But when she opened the paper, she found a hand-written message from the man commending her for being the parent of such a polite, well-behaved little boy and calling her a “credit” to her generation. He went on to include a £5 bill (about $7.50), explaining she should buy a drink on his dime.

It seems that the man was passing on an act of goodwill after having seen someone do the same for his daughter, who’s the same age as Welch.

Welch posted the story to her Facebook page, writing,

I never had the chance to thank him as he got off and I couldn’t move due to my son being asleep on me and a man sat next to me…

He shows there are still good people out there and I want him to know I am truly grateful.

The grateful mother isn’t likely to forget the man’s act of kindness, and she may even pass it on to someone else in the future.

Welch uploaded her heartening story to Facebook.
