Like all arachnids, tarantulas molt. But when a tarantula molts, it’s definitely a uniquely heinous spectacle, since these giant spiders have to slide out of all 11 inches of their skin. For some reason, it’s even more disturbing that they do all of this upside down.

After watching this video, I figured out that the one thing that I find more repulsive than tarantulas themselves is a pile of loose tarantula skin.
