These brave men and women have seen Hell for us. They fought through fire and flames to protect our country. Now, they are simply trying to live their lives with the scars of what happened. Their sacrifice brings me to tears – this is the part of war you don’t see. Photographer Tom Sperduto’s captured the lives of the wounded warriors who are returning home and adjusting to life. It’s strange, their photographs are full of a sadness that is full of hope. They faced something terrible, but they are on the other side of it now. They know they have the rest of their lives ahead of them.
