N Is a Number — Documentary about Paul Erdos

From the video description…

This guy was deeply plugged into the machinery of the universe. Long documentary, but worth it.

Paul Erdős (26 March 1913 – 20 September 1996) was a Hungarian mathematician. Erdős published more papers than any other mathematician in history, working with hundreds of collaborators. He worked on problems in combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, classical analysis, approximation theory, set theory, and probability theory.

He is also known for his “legendarily eccentric” personality….

Erdos was…curiously a nearly daily user of methamphetamine, which he rarely publicly admitted for fear of proliferating the idea that drug use is acceptable…. His friends made a bet with him for $500 that he couldn’t quit meth for 30 days, he won the bet, but later remarked that they had set the progress of mathematics back a month.
