Breast cancer is one of the facts of life that many women deal with at some point in their lives, in some way or another.
What many people aren’t aware of is that it can also affect men; so this is yet another type of cancer that is damaging to both sexes all over the world. That’s not being said to downplay the damage it’s caused to countless women, but to give insight as to how deep the problem goes.
One of the bad parts about cancer, especially in the US, is the insane cost that comes with identifying and treating it. But did you know that there are ways that you yourself can check at home? Any of these signs can indicate a possible case of breast cancer, so if you feel any of these you may want to head to the hospital!
* Lumps in the breasts
* Lumps closer to the armpit area
* Changes to the shape or size of your breasts
* Itchy breasts
* Noticeable skin changes
Note that these signs don’t always mean you have breast cancer, they’re just the most common of physical symptoms around the breasts. Other symptoms include, but are not limited to, jaundice, random or excessive weight loss, a loss in appetite and a whole slew of others that you can find on BreastCancer.org. Do yourself the favor and check yourself regularly, the sooner it’s found the sooner it can be treated and your life can return to normal; but remember, cancer is no longer a death sentence!
