Secret Solstice Announced Their Lineup And It Looks Awesome

Iceland – a country famous for it’s stunning landscapes, liberal outlook and now, epic festival line-ups.

Set in one of the smallest but buzziest capital cities in the world, Reykjavik, Secret Solstice is fast becoming one of the most talked about music festivals on the scene. I mean, where else can you party in a secret lagoon or attend a rave in a glacier

Today they announced their line up, and if we weren’t already excited enough at the prospect of drinking Viking beer during 24 hours of sunlight, we are now. Here’sour top three pick from the line-up:

Radiohead

Returning from their four-year hiatus, British music giants Radiohead are coming out of hibernation with a headlining bang. Made up of Thom Yorke,Ed OBrien,Jonny Greenwood, Colin GreenwoodandPhil Selway, the band have released a whopping 30 million records since the release of Pablo Honey in 1993. Their latest track, the hauntingly beautiful Spectre, was originally written for the Bond movie of the same name. It didn’t work out, but Thom said ” it became something of our own, which we very much love,” and works as a nice taster for what we can expect to hear in June:

Skream

Skream has been dominating the EDM scene since dubstep emerged in the mainstream. Forming a close relationship with Benga he released massive tracks like Midnight Request Line, and later collaborated with Benga to make “Magnetic Man”. His ‘Let’s Get Ravey’ remix of La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’ has been a festival staple since 2009, and we’ll be sure to pack the glowsticks for his Secret Solstice set:

Afrika Bambaataa

Instrumental in the creation of the hip hop of today, Africa Bambaataa (or Bam) is often referred to as the “Godfather” or “Grandfather” of the genre. Forming the Universal Zulu Nation in the late 70s, Bam was responsible for the first wave of politically and socially aware rappers, a trend he has continued with throughout his career. So the only question left to ask is, Secret Solstice party people, can y’all get funky?
