Working in retail is obviously a tough job, especially during the winter months.
Cranky customers, mislabeled inventory and messy shelves are only a few of the things that can make retail a suckfest.
Of course, you’re grateful to be employed, but that doesn’t mean you don’t spend all your spare time ranting and cutting corners during work hours.
Add in the crowds and chaos of the holiday season, sprinkle a few overtime work shifts on top of it all and you’re beginning to grasp what it’s like to have a retail job during Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year’s.
Some employees use the confidential app Whisper to air their deepest grievances with the industry. Boy, do they need some extra coffee.
Work can be a cover for loneliness.
But, it often comes with ungodly, long hours.
It’s important to invest in comfortable shoes.
That demanding mom definitely won’t notice a little Baileys on your breath.
Ignore everyone who isn’t your direct supervisor. Just smile.
