Even in 2015, it can be a gamble buying things online. It could break after first use, could be the wrong size, could contain the Spanish influenza… you can’t be too careful.
And when it is inevitably faulty, you have to go through the whole ordeal of returning it. I must have hundreds of wrong-sized clothes and broken gadgets lying around purely because I’m too lazy to walk to the train station…
