Harry Potter Star Is Now Making It As A Cage Fighter

Josh Herdman may not ring many bells – unless you’re part of the hardcore Potterdom – but he actually starred in every single Harry Potter movie, as part of Draco Malfoy’s bullying sidekick duo, Gregory Goyle.

Life for Crabbe and Goyle, after school – as it is for many bullies – was always going to be tough. You can’t really get away with following around that one evil, weedy kid anymore and you realise you probably should have befriended the kid that’s now pipped to be Minster for Magic rather than beating him up with a broomstick.

Crabbe, played by Jamie Waylett, went all Slytherin in the 2011 riots and was sentenced to two years for “possessing a molotov cocktail” and growing fifteen cannabis plants in his home… Voldemort would be so proud. Goyle, however, has learnt to channel his evil in a better way, by turning to cage fighting.

Talking to The Mirror, he said:

“I haven’t fallen out of love with it [acting], I still have an agent and still go for auditions…I don’t see it so much as a career change, I am passionate about both acting and fighting.”

I can see the similarities.. umm no actually I can’t. The 28-year-old who is a Shodan black belt and has trained in Japanese jujitsu for nearly five years, competed and won in a fight this weekend:

He continued:

“It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable.

I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing. It also made sense to move onto MMA because of my jujitsu training.”
