Student gets attacked by a shark, and then decides to go to the pub.

The brave doctor had to fight off the shark with a knife before calling out to his friends who fetched his medical equipment from his car. Using only basic needle and thread, the young doctor stitched up his own leg.

‘It was pretty well latched on, I was just trying to get it off,’ he told the Southland Times.

When his friends arrived they decided the best course of action was to go to the pub.
