What if Apple had unleashed absolutely nothing new during its Sept. 12 event?
Well, comedy engine College Humor turned that inconceivable thought into a reality in the above spoof starring actor Christopher McDonald, who also played Apple CEO Tim Cook in the “Steve Jobs’ Substitute” parody.
“Today, Apple is releasing something more extraordinary: nothing,” McDonald reveals. “We need a break. That’s why starting today, Apple is going to start coasting.”
Of course, Apple did unveil fresh gems on Wednesday, including the iPhone 5, iOS 6, EarPods, revamped iTunes, new dock connector, thinner iPod Nanos and iPod touch with Siri.
“Apple has revolutionized the computer, music and phone industries; it seems impossible that they can keep innovating at this rate, so we thought it would be funny if they simply came out and said, ‘This year, we’re coasting’,” Sam Reich, College Humor‘s president of original content, tells Mashable.
